Ride the heat
A one-thumb space shooter about riding reactor heat. Firing heats the reactor, and heat makes your guns stronger. At 100% you have one second to release a nova that clears the screen, or the reactor melts down.
One thumb flies, fires and decides how close to the edge you dare to run.
The ship follows your thumb and auto-fires at the nearest threat while your thumb is down.
Firing and kills heat the reactor. Your guns climb from Pulse to Twin to a five-way Spread.
From 85% you fire the piercing Plasma Stream, and every second there charges your nova and multiplies your score.
At 100% a ring closes in. Tap within one second to blast everything on screen, then coast through the dark drift.
Lift to cool. Letting go stops your guns and cools the reactor, but the ship stops too: cooling means you aren't dodging.
Survive as long as you can. Every capital ship ends a sector and offers three upgrade cards, and every sector hits harder than the last.
The same sector for every player, every day, with its own name. Everyone flies the stock ship, so only skill counts. Your best run of the day is the one that counts.
Short handcrafted challenges, from Ignition to Redline: stay in the redline, chain novas, never get hit. The next three are always open, so one hard mission never blocks the rest.
Every run pays salvage. Spend it on weapons, reactor, nova and hull upgrades that make each tier stronger, but never skip one: every run starts on Pulse at 0% heat.
Each enemy has its own colour and shape, and none of them uses the colours of your heat.
Flocks in, homes for a few seconds and flies through. Fuel for your heat.
Hovers and fires fans of slow plasma. Let it skim past for a graze bonus.
Tracks you with a glowing lane, locks on and charges straight down it. Keep moving.
Parks in your line of fire. Its shield shrugs off Pulse and Twin. Run hotter.
Latches on and drains your heat. Fling it off with a fast move, or nova.
Armour that ignores gunfire. Crack its weak points, then nova it down.
Most shooters ask you to avoid danger. Redline pays you for flirting with it: the hotter you run, the stronger you get, right up until the moment you have to let it all go.
